Multi simulated state Corrosion sensor

Standard EN ISO 12944-6 is mainly used to evaluate and classify the protective performance of coatings under various environmental conditions. This standard defines atmospheric corrosion categories to facilitate the selection of appropriate coating materials for different climatic and environmental conditions. This test program covers the following aspects:

  • Evaluation of corrosion resistance of coatings
  • Analysis of adaptability to various atmospheric environmental conditions
  • Measurement and analysis of corrosion rates
  • Identification and assessment of coating failure modes

This corrosion sensor measures the degree of metal corrosion and thickness reduction by means of electrical resistance.

For corrosion compensation, metal electrodes are arranged on the same plane, with one side covered by corrosion-resistant material to prevent corrosion on the exposed (corroding) side.

Tests are conducted under three electrode configurations and three working conditions:

  1. Bare steel
  2. Painted steel
  3. Salt spray environment (accelerated corrosion test)
  4. Can integrate temperature and humidity sensors.
