Purposes for Using Corrosion Rate Monitoring Sensors

Corrosion does not uniformly attack every part of buildings, equipment and pipelines. For marine environments, zones are divided into atmospheric zone, submerged zone, tidal zone and splash zone, each featuring distinct corrosion behaviours that may require separate mitigation solutions. Budget is nevertheless the decisive factor. Everyone would love to own a Ferrari, yet most can only afford an electric scooter in reality.

Corrosion risk identification and assessment rely on corrosion sensors. Different types of corrosion sensors should be deployed according to service conditions, followed by the selection of corresponding corrosion protection systems. This is precisely why I advocate the use of corrosion rate sensors.
